A VERY EXCITING AND SUCCESFUL SHOW AT NORTH SEA JAZZ FESTIVAL 2007
On Sunday 15 Juli Ronald Snijders gave a fabulous show with his Extended Funk band. During the whole concert the Congo-stage at the North Sea Jazz festival was packed with a thousand wild enthousiastic music-lovers. In this new program FUNK is the focus, FUNK and RARE GROOVE: obscure jazz/ funk from the early days and nowadays funk with new compositions. Besides American influences you will hear some African, Caribbean and Brazilian grooves. Of course there is a lot of opportunity for improvisation. Later this year we'll have the release of a live CD of this project.

Rare Groove
Since the 1977 LP Natural Sources until now flutist/ composer Ronald Snijders released his 20 albums on his own label. Especially the first five pretty funky vinylalbums became to be collector’s items. They were mainly in Engeland labeled as so called ‘rare groove’ items, and Snijders himself as rare groove phenomenon.
